Technology is great,  I can look up a million different topics.
Technology is ruining my life, I can look up a million different topics.

Where do we go from here?  Perfecting who we follow, who we feed from, who we tweet to.  The concept of a PLN is wonderful and it will take some time before I am proficient and have things whittled down to "best practices", most trusted, and most current.

Blog this day, this day, here's your topic, chose your topic, no tweet, oh no, retweet.  I think that adolescents can handle this better than I can.  Yet this course is what will give me the skill to participate and escalate. I would not have tried most of the tools we have begun to use.  Making it mandatory shows us what is expected of us.

  1. I couldn't help but to bust out in laughter, but also in agreement to your first two sentences. Technology is a huge help, but it can also be a huge time waster. What I had to do, personally, is to unfollow different Twitter accounts that posted a bunch of nonsense. (Really, it was things that are funny, but I have other, more productive things to do than to sit down and read jokes on the Internet.) After I unfollowed those people, I found I had cut back on the Twitter usage quite a bit. BUT then, along came Facebook. Facebook is a trap for me. I waste so much time on it. It's weird, because I will open the app, scroll scroll, scroll, and see the same positing a over and over again. It's wasting my time, and resources.

Have you, or any other reader of these blogs, experienced this? What have you done to assist yourself in not wasting so much time in social media?
